Introduction to Economics
In the "Introduction to Economics" course for first-year students in Department of Economics, students learn about the basics of economics from the perspectives of various fields, including microeconomics, macroeconomics, game theory, and economic history. This is an opportunity to learn about what economics is and acquire the foundations for analyzing society from a variety of perspectives, in preparation for full-scale study at university. Students can choose a field that suits their preferences and interests and learn about society and the economy. Classes are small and the distance between teachers and students is close, making it easy to ask for advice.

GIS (Geographic Information System)
GIS (Geographic Information System) is a system that uses digital maps and statistical data to spatially analyze the real world. GIS makes it easy to perform advanced spatial analysis of a variety of subjects, such as commercial location, disaster prevention, regional policies, and simulations of economic phenomena, so it is used not only by universities but also by local governments and companies. In the field of economics, a spatial view allows for analysis to be performed in a more realistic manner, allowing for deeper exploration of economic effects. Department of Public and Regional Economics offers GIS classes.
